After more than eighteen months of negotiations, Brighton & Hove City Council approved the joint £15 million regeneration scheme for the heart of Brighton Lanes at Planning Committee, with a unanimous vote on 11th December 2013. Haydon has been leading the strategic planning of the scheme on behalf of Centurion Group for the past 18 months, which has involved a great deal of negotiation between Brighton & Hove City Council, neighboring landowners RBS Global Restructuring Group and key local stakeholders. The 1960's built Brighton Square portfolio was acquired in January 2012 by Centurion Group with the primary objective of rejuvenating the tired but central Brighton asset to deliver a new boutique hotel, in addition to a complete re-configuration of the portfolio, providing a mixture of uses including retail, café / restaurant and residential. In collaboration with the regeneration of Brighton Square, neighboring landowners RBS Global Restructuring Group are creating a new lane, to be named Hannington's Lane, immediately to the north of Brighton Square, connecting into Meeting House Lane, Brighton Place and also Brighton Square. RBS GRG will provide 14 new retail and restaurant units with seven new apartments and two floors of office accommodation.
